M State sees growing enrollment for cannabis courses
MOORHEAD, MINN. (KVRR) — With the cannabis industry on the rise in the state, Minnesota State Community and Technical College are offering students a chance to get a leg up in the industry.
In January of 2024 they began offering several programs fro students to learn the skills they’ll need to thrive in growing and selling cannabis, as well as extraction and product development.
The courses are offered in a partnership with Green Flower, a national cannabis education company, and lasts nine weeks in total.
M State has seen a huge response to the programs, and the potential to get into the growing industry.
“It started a little slow like new programs will, but it started to get more interest. When you look at the growth of the industry, I think it’s been estimated at $400 billion in the United States Currently, they’re estimating doubling that in the next 4 years.”
New cohorts in the program will begin every month, with next months starting on May 7th. You can find the full interview, and more information on signing up with this story on our morning show page.
