UPDATE: Motorcycle Rider Identified After Fatal Crash Into Motorhome on Main Ave. in Fargo

(THURSDAY UPDATE) Authorities identify the West Fargo man killed in a motorcycle crash as 34-year-old Christopher Bredemus.

(10PM UPDATE) North Dakota Highway Patrol says the motorcycle rider who was involved in a crash on Main Avenue in Fargo on Wednesday afternoon has died of his injuries.

They say the 34-year-old man from West Fargo was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the motorhome, an 86-year-old man from Grand Forks was not hurt.

They say the motorhome was making a left turn into a parking lot when the motorcycle, reportedly
traveling at a high rate of speed,  crashed into the passenger side in a T-bone style collision.

Charges against the motorhome driver are under investigation.

(8PM UPDATE) The crash scene has been cleared and traffic is once again open in all directions.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Law enforcement and emergency crews are on Main Avenue in Fargo where a crash between a motorhome and a motorcycle has shut down some lanes of traffic.

The call came in just before 4 o’clock at Main Avenue and 42nd Street.

According to North Dakota Highway Patrol, the driver of the motorcycle was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the motorhome was not hurt.

Fargo Police put out a warning for drivers to avoid the area.

Westbound traffic on Main Avenue is closed from 40th to 43 1/2 Streets until further notice.

Eastbound traffic on Main Avenue remains open.

“We hope to get traffic opened up soon. With any of these things, we want to make sure we do a really good investigation so we get the answers to why something happened. As soon as we get all those answers figured out, we’ll open up traffic and people can get going. Hopefully not too much longer. But we got to make sure we do our job to the full extent before we can open it,” said Sgt. Andrew Cashin with North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol is reconstructing the crash during its investigation.
