Longtime Grand Forks Herald Columnist Chuck Haga Has Died

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — Longtime former Grand Forks Herald journalist Chuck Haga has died.

His son sharing the news on Haga’s Facebook page saying his dad died peacefully shortly after midnight.

Haga wrote on social media back in April that he was dealing with lung cancer that had spread to his brain.

He had a long newspaper career with Grand Forks Herald and Minneapolis Star Tribune and retired as a full-time journalist in 2013.

He continued a column in the Herald until last year when he called it quits due to disagreements with the ownership.

Haga was a UND alum and adjunct professor in the Department of Communication.
