Drug-Related Shooting: One Man Sentenced, One Awaits Trial

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Moorhead man accused of shooting a man in a drug deal gone bad last July in south Fargo is sentenced to 10 years in prison in a plea deal.

An attempted murder charge was dropped against 34-year-old Starmaine Hoeper.

He was sentenced for possession of fentanyl with a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and aggravated assault.

Kyle Mcleod, a co-defendant, has had a charge of accomplice to attempted murder dropped.

He is set to stand trial for accomplice to robbery and accomplice to aggravated assault in June.

The victim survived the shooting.
