FARGO, N.D. – It may have been grey and cold this Saturday, but that didn’t stop shoppers from heading to Scheels to stock up on their summer essentials.

The home and hardware store on 13th Ave. South held their Home & Hardware Expo from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. on May 17.

Many tools and lawncare essentials were on sale at steep discounts, while vendors like Big Deck Barbecue Company and Traeger set up stalls so people could score free samples.

Scheels says its partnerships with those vendors are what make the expo so special for their customers.

“Our vendor partners are what make our business, and we appreciate them coming. They get to do the legwork for us today, but then they also get to connect with the customer and show off their products. It’s a really fun day,” said Ashley Wait, marketing leader for Scheels.

“We just wanted everyone to be able to see the grills in action, try out the new sauces and seasonings, and get ready for summer,” she added.

The event is also known for its red bucket sale.

Buy a bucket for $5 – then, absolutely everything you can fit inside comes to you at 10% off.
