Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Rolls Through Fargo
The motorcycle event aims to raise money for men's mental and prostate health care.
FARGO, N.D. – The roar of classic motorcycles paired with vintage threads as riders hopped on their bikes to raise money for men’s mental and physical health.
It’s the local iteration of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.
The event began back in 2012 in Australia, and has since spread to 121 countries around the world.
In the F-M area, bikers staged at Red River Triumph in Moorhead before setting off to travel all around the cities.
Those participating said it was great to combine their love of motorcycles with fundraising efforts.
“God, classic bike, riding with a bunch of cool guys, on cool bikes, around town,” said Dan Jacobson, one of the participants.
“This is a perfect event to raise a bunch of money and awareness for men’s health and prostate cancer and everything.”
The event raises money through sponsorships – where a motorcyclist registers to ride and then solicits donations from friends and family.
Organizers say they had 49 registered riders this year.
