Moorhead Man Arrested After SWAT Standoff

Authorities say 44-year-old Landar Moore was trying to avoid being arrested for a parole violation.

FARGO, N.D. – A Moorhead man is in custody after the Fargo Police Department says he attempted to evade arrest for an active warrant.

The FPD says at 6:02 P.M. on Saturday, June 14, they responded to a report of a wanted person in 100 block of 12th St. S.

44-year-old Landar Moore of Moorhead had an active warrant out of Clay County. He had apparently violated his parole regarding previous convictions for simple robbery and forgery.

Moore fled and barricaded himself in a nearby apartment structure.

The Red River Valley SWAT Team showed up to assist the FPD, and at approximately 9:53 P.M., they made their move.

The SWAT Team utilized multiple Flash Sound Diversionary Devices (FSDD) to create a loud bang and bright flash of light. Landar was located inside the building, complied with commands, and was apprehended at 10:19 P.M.

Moore was arrested for his outstanding Clay County warrant, criminal trespass, preventing arrest, and refusal to halt, and transported to the Cass County Jail, where he is currently being held.
