Apartment basement fire leads to a second alarm in south Fargo
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo Fire Department is investigating after an apartment basement fire leads to a second alarm being called.
Firefighters were called to 1202 1st Avenue South just before 8 AM.
There were flames coming from the basement windows when they arrived.
It took crews about 10 minutes to knock the fire down, and crews worked to make sure the fire did not spread up the wall.
Fargo Fire Marshal Ryan Erickson says that thankfully there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
“We did call a second alarm, just to bring in some extra units. At this time there are no injuries. And so what we’re doing right now is just trying to make sure we don’t have anything in the wall, a lot of these older constructed houses have open white spaces, so they’re making sure we don’t have this spreading anywhere.”
The fire remains under investigation.
