MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Concordia College is switching it up when the school year begins.

The traditional corn feed is going away and will be transformed into a new event called “Cobber Fest.”

One of the reasons behind the change is that many students aren’t back in time for the corn feed.

“Cobber Fest” will take place after the start of the fall semester on September 6.

The event leads into the first-ever football game under the lights in the newly upgraded stadium featuring a new track, new turfed football field and the new stadium lights.

Officials at Concordia say the details of the new event are still being finalized but “the goal is to maintain the spirit of the past celebrations, while fitting better with our academic year.”
