West Fargo police arrest Moorhead man after vehicle pursuit

WEST FARGO — The West Fargo Police Department has arrested a man after he allegedly fled from police after a traffic stop.
Police say the incident happened at around 1 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, where West Fargo police began to perform a traffic stop near the 500 block of 32nd Avenue East, after receiving reports of an intoxicated driver.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and police began a pursuit of the vehicle. The suspect fled west on 32nd Ave., where police had deployed spike strips near the intersection of 32nd and Sheyenne Street.
The driver continued to head west, where they performed a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT maneuver, stopping the vehicle near the Sheyenne diversion.
There were no reports of injuries to emergency personnel, suspects or bystanders. The suspect vehicle was impounded.
The driver has been identified as Alan Steven Walker, 30, from Moorhead. He was arrested for felony fleeing a peace officer, felony driving under the influence, felony driving under the influence – refusal, and driving under suspension.
