Folks Run Wild for the Red River Zoo
Participants could choose from a 5k, a mile, or a half mile to walk or run.

FARGO, N.D. – Runners and walkers laced up their shoes early Saturday morning to get their steps in and raise money for the local zoo.
The event was titled “Running Wild for the Red River Zoo” and it kicked off at 8 A.M.
200 people signed up in total, getting to choose between a 5k, 1 mile, or half mile course.
Each came with different entry fees, which included admission to the zoo after the race was over and a t-shirt.
Organizers say it’s a great way to raise funds and general interest in the zoo itself.
“We get a lot of people who come to our run that don’t necessarily come other days during the year, so it’s really fun to get a new group of people in, get them excited about the zoo, see some animals, and just have a great fun time,” said Sara Cushing, a zookeeper who was the main organizer of the event.
Up next on the event calendar for the zoo is Zoo Brew on August 22nd.
That’s a 21 and over event sponsored by Happy Harry’s that will have craft beer and live music.
