Scheels Gets in on Market Action with ‘Shop the Lot’

The open-air market drew strong crowds despite some rain and then intense heat.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – There are outdoor fairs and markets all over the place in the summertime, and this year Scheels Arena decided to join in the fun.

The arena parking lot was the site of the first ever “Shop the Lot” event.

It ran from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. on July 27.

The lot was filled with stands for local clothing stores, food vendors, and handmade crafts.

Scheels staff say they were pleasantly surprised by the turnout even in the face of the weather conditions.

“Oh, it was incredible. This was the best event I could’ve imagined for the first year. We’ve had steady traffic all day long,” said event manager Jayda Bennett. “We had a little bit of rain earlier, and they were troopers out there, they handled it like pros.”

Nashville recording artist and Fargo native Annabelle Maher also played live music throughout the event.
