WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The sound of motorcycle engines firing up set the tone for an exciting day of riding and fundraising in North Dakota.

Brothers Keepers MC organized their fifth annual La Familia ride on Saturday, August 9, with the goal being to raise as much money for the Honor Flight of North Dakota/Minnesota.

Last year, the ride raised over $3,000 through registration fees and raffle tickets.

Event organizers say their membership consists largely of veterans, so getting to support the Honor Flight is extremely important to them.

“These things do have a lot of meaning for me,” said Rob Peleschak. “I’m a vet myself, currently still serving – some of our members still are or are retired. But about 90% of our chapter are veterans of one branch or another.”

The ride began at Hooligans in West Fargo at noon, then covered approximately 150 miles in North Dakota, stopping in locations like Lisbon and Enderlin.

It culminates in an afterparty at Hooligans where the raffle drawing will be held.
