Sex Offender Jumps in River in Attempt to Evade Capture
The incident was originally reported by the Moorhead Fire Department as a river rescue.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A registered sex offender is back behind bars after an escape attempt required rescue efforts from the Moorhead Fire Department.
The Fargo Police Department says that just after 3 P.M. on Saturday, August 9, they responded to a report of a sex offender who was not in compliance with registration requirements.
39-year-old Raybert Joseph Littlewind Jr. reportedly entered the Red River near 2nd Street North and 1st Avenue North in Fargo in an attempt to evade arrest.
Firefighters utilizing a Zodiac boat joined forces with both Fargo and Moorhead police officers to retrieve Littlewind from the water and pull him out on the Moorhead side of the river near the Hjemkomst Center.
Littlewind was evaluated at a local medical center before being booked into the Cass County Jail.
He is charged with failure to register as a sex offender, preventing arrest, refusal to halt, and false information to law enforcement.
