FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo city commissioner Michelle Turnberg expressed her dismay during tonight’s city commission meeting after the announcement of a second remote police station was added to the agenda.

Turnberg moved to have the motion moved to the regular agenda.

It comes as the commissioner previously hinted at calling for the dismissal of Chief Dave Zibolski.

There has been controversy over how the chief has handled informing the public and media about critical incidents.

The police department wants to put a remote work station at Scheels along 45th Street South in Fargo.

Previously, police had a location at the fire station near West Acres, which is currently being reconstructed.

“Just coming on the agenda and then of course now we have articles written about it. It just seems like another thing that’s flying under the radar,” said Turnberg.

“It’s secure and our folks can go there and do at least some work and stay as close as possible to their south side beats. And keep them down there in that area of town,” said Zibolski.

The remote work station passed by a three to two vote with Turnberg and Dave Piepkorn voting against the idea.

We contacted Scheels about the proposal, and they declined to comment.
