Red Raven to close at the end of the month

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Red Raven in Moorhead has announced on social media that it is closing its doors at the end of September.
They have three final events planned through September 20.
In the post, they say “We found ourselves as the last two people of what had been an eight member team. This work is not sustainable with two people, especially when we are volunteering our time and effort, and we were not given the tools or the resources needed in order to sustain the shop long term. We were not given a working espresso machine, appropriate training, or even a full disclosure of what the Raven’s situation was. In an effort to continue to provide for the community, we navigated a very difficult situation the best that we could.”
They go on to say, “We are choosing to step away & not recruit new members to be financially abused by the unserious, incompetent people who wanted to keep the Raven going without putting in the necessary work.”
The arts venue and coffee shop lost its lease at its Fargo location in 2022 and then announced a move to its current location at 106 7th Street South in Moorhead in March 2024.
They have also had a GoFundMe accounts to help offset operating costs.
