23-Year-Old Arrested for Attempted Murder Struck Boyfriend with Hatchet, Documents Say

Lena Deoliviera was arrested on September 7 after a relatively short police search.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Court documents have now revealed why 23-year-old Lena Deoliviera is being charged with attempted murder.

Deoliviera’s case came to public attention on Friday, September 6, when the Fargo Police Department announced they were looking for her following an incident of aggravated assault. She was then arrested in Moorhead on September 7.

The court documents say Deoliviera struck her boyfriend in the head with a hatchet.

The victim had to have surgery on his fingers at the emergency room. His head also bore a large laceration.

Additional information was provided by a man staying with the couple in the home on 14th Street North.

He said he woke up to screaming, then saw Deoliviera actually swing the hatchet at the victim’s head.

Deoliveira appeared in Cass County court on September 12. Her next court date is set for October 16.
