Longtime Grand Forks Herald columnist and viral Olive Garden review star dies at 99
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — Marilyn Hagerty died this morning at the age of 99.
She will forever be remembered as a dedicated Grand Forks Herald columnist and food critic, even though she claimed she wasn’t one.
Hagerty made national headlines in 2012 and went on a whirlwind national media tour after her review of Olive Garden in Grand Forks in her “Eatbeat” column went viral.
She was born in Pierre, South Dakota on May 30, 1926.
Hagerty started with the Herald in 1957 and went on to win numerous awards including an honorary degree from UND.
