Student arrested after bringing firearm to Moorhead school

Moorhead, Minn. (KVRR) — School officials are investigating and a Moorhead Public School student is in police custody this morning after someone discovered a firearm as the student was leaving the alternative learning center Wednesday, according to a letter sent out by the school superintendent, Brandon Lunak.

Police found there was no threat made toward the school, students or staff. Classes are back in session this morning.

In a letter, Lunak addressed to district families that while the school can’t share any disciplinary actions for privacy reasons, they will hold students who put others at risk to the highest accountability possible.
