Teen arrested after incident at Moorhead Career Academy on Monday

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — A juvenile involved in a disturbance at Moorhead Career Academy on Monday was arrested off of the premises in the afternoon after a loaded weapon was found nearby.

Officers at first detained the 17-year-old in the 2800 block of 34th Street South.

While reviewing traffic camera footage and a search of the area, officers found the weapon.

They did not say if the teen showed the weapon in school.

The juvenile was arrested and taken to West Central Regional Juvenile Center on a felony charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18.

The investigation is ongoing.
