Grand Forks man killed after train and vehicle collision Saturday night

GRAND FORKS CO., N.D. (KVRR) — A Grand Forks man is dead after his vehicle was hit by a BNSF train Saturday night.
North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 76-year-old man’s vehicle was high centered, or stuck, on the track around 10 p.m. when the train hit his vehicle and dragged it about 60 feet.
It happened northwest of the intersection of 16th Street and 17th Avenue Northeast, about three miles west of Grand Forks.
It came to rest along the railroad tracks.
The man died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
