Second “No Kings” Protest Again Draws Crowds to City Hall
Demonstrators remain upset over a myriad of policy decisions from the Trump Administration.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The first “No Kings” protest at Fargo City Hall was held back in June. The second, in October, saw a similar turnout. Most protesters said that not only have their concerns not been addressed, most of the issues they’re worried about have only gotten worse.
The nationwide protests are organized under the “No Kings” moniker because dissidents feel Trump is acting in an autocratic fashion.
“I believe that we need to be here to support one another,” said Kaitlyn, a protester. “The democracy is not doing that for us, so we need to do that for ourselves.”
The list of grievances is long – from the threatening to withhold back pay from federal workers to the deployment of National Guard Troops to various left-leaning cities and the rampant arrests made by ICE agents – but, if there’s one bright spot to be found for those in the crowd, it’s that they were surrounded by so many like-minded people.
“It’s amazing seeing the turnout, seeing how many people are here supporting the same issues that we feel so strongly about,” said Hannah, another protester. “Even the people that are driving by, that are honking, that are waving – it’s great to have this sense of community.”
No Kings organizers estimated that well over 1,000 people attended the Fargo protest.
There were similar demonstrations in Grand Forks, Minot, and Bismarck, to name a few.
