STEM Day for Middle Schoolers at Concordia
The entirety of the seventh grade at Ben Franklin Middle School got to participate.

MOORHEAD, MN (KVRR) – The entire seventh grade class of Ben Franklin Middle School got to take a mini field trip today in order to get hands-on experience with science and engineering.
It was the annual STEM workshops day, hosted by Concordia College in the Integrated Science Center.
There were a number of activities for the students, such as building a functional battery and working with models regarding flood management.
Event organizers say that this type of early exposure to science can be massively influential for children.
“You get to see kids look at these new concepts and things that they maybe hadn’t considered as a potential career, and maybe they’ll want to be engineers someday,” said Alexa Ducioame.
The event has been held specifically for the seventh graders of Ben Franklin every year since 2016.
