FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Congratulations are in order for our local high school speech teams that have been given the 2024-2025 Leading Chapter Awards.

National Speech & Debate Association recognizes one school from over 100 competition districts for outstanding student participation in speech and debate.

Moorhead High School is one of three winners in Minnesota.

While Sheyenne High School in West Fargo is the sole winner in North Dakota.

“Leading Chapters go above and beyond to advance speech and debate in their school and empower their students to use their voice,” said Executive Director J. Scott Wunn. “These schools understand the life-changing benefits of this activity and serve as an inspiration to speech and debate teams across the country.”

From more than 4,000 member schools across the country, the Leading Chapters represent the top 3% of speech and debate schools in the NSDA.
