Boys out ice fishing in a Otter Sled fall through the ice on Straight Lake and had to be rescued

BECKER CO., Minn. (KVRR) — Two boys out ice fishing in a Otter Sled on Straight Lake in Osage, Minnesota had to be rescued after falling through the ice.
Becker County Sheriff’s Office got a report about the teens just before 3 p.m.
Minnesota DNR was first to arrive with a boat and broke through the ice at Straight Lake access.
The DNR officer and a Hubbard County deputy were able to break through the ice enough with the boat to make it out to the 13 and 14 year old boys and get them safely back to shore.
They were checked out by EMS and were not injured.
The sheriff’s office is advising everyone to stay off area lakes at this time due to the warmer November weather.
