FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – One of Fargo’s enduring Christmas traditions has returned to Downtown for its eighth installment.

Christkindlmarkt is back in the Civic Center, and Folkways says the event is bigger and better than ever.

It began on Friday, November 21, and ran throughout this weekend.

Folkways has completely rebuilt the sheds for the outdoor Christmas Village and installed new fire pits.

The Bier Hall inside the Civic Center has also been reworked.

They say the local response has been tremendous so far.

“This is our fifth year at the Civic Center, and the eighth year we’ve done the event, and the community’s just come out in full form,” said Joe Burgum, executive director of Folkways. “Friday and Saturday were wonderful. Saturday night ended with everyone in the Bier Hall getting up and getting on the dance floor and dancing together. For us at Folkways, with our mission of building community, it doesn’t get sweeter than that.”

As always, Christkindlmarkt is a two-weekend event, so don’t worry if you missed out.

They will be back from November 28 through the 30th.
