MAYVILLE, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — Cleanup has begun at the site of O’Brien Seeds in Mayville that burned down two weeks ago.

People are encouraged to proceed with caution through the area as heavy equipment and smoke are making it hard to see at times.

The elevator was destroyed by fire on Saturday, November 15.

About a dozen fire departments responded to the scene along with an aerial truck from Grand Forks Air Force Base.

The wind carried embers from the blaze and homeowners were told to hose down their roofs.

Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt says a state fire investigator is still looking into the cause of the fire.
