Man who was hit and killed on I-94 near Valley City identified along with pieces of the vehicle involved

BARNES CO., N.D. (KVRR) — The man who was hit while walking along I-94 and found dead in a ditch has been identified as 27-year-old Jerson Mejia of Honduras.
North Dakota Highway Patrol has also released images of the bug deflector that was left at the scene and pieced back together.
Mejia was hit sometime late Saturday night, about eight miles west of Valley City.
A trooper stopped and talked to him around 11 p.m. and he declined help.
A passerby noticed his body in the ditch on Sunday afternoon around 2:30.
The bug deflector was left behind along with a black 7 inch by 4 inch piece from behind the bumper on the passenger side front quarter panel.
Highway patrol believes the vehicle involved may be a Ford F-150 or Ford F-250 from the early to mid 2000s.
They also say a one-inch chrome-colored piece may be missing from the headlight assembly.
