Barnesville, MN announces death of city council member

BARNESVILLE, Minn. (KVRR) —  A Barnesville, Minnesota council member has died.

A social media post by the city announced the death of Dawn Stuvland.

She served Ward 1 since first being elected in 2015.

The post says Dawn served with dedication and integrity and was committed to serving the residents of Barnesville.

She had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in March 2025.

Funeral and memorial arrangements are pending.
