Hegvik announces re-election campaign for Cass County State’s Attorney

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Cass County State’s Attorney Kim Hegvik has announced that she is running for a second term.
In a social media post, Hegvik says the job has been more challenging and rewarding than she ever could have imagined, but there is still much work to be done.
She says the first step is getting on the ballot and to do that she’ll need to collect 300 signatures from qualified voters.
In the 2022 election, Hegvik defeated her colleague Ryan Younggrenn by only 650 votes.
She replaced Birch Burdick who led Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office for nearly 25 years before retiring.
In 2024, Younggren was elected to the bench in the East Central Judicial District.
