Fargo coffee shop that hired adults with cognitive challenges closes

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Even though a GoFundMe account raised $14,000 to help keep Charlie’s Place open, the Fargo coffee shop that hired adults with intellectual disabilities has officially closed.
In a social media post, operators say it was one of the hardest decisions they’ve had to make and say this is not an ending—it’s a pause and a new beginning.
But they say the nonprofit Art and Soul is still very much alive and moving forward.
The money raised for Charlie’s will be used for Art and Soul’s members to continue making art and find their creative side.
They are even planning art shows in the future.
