Clay County DMV to end Same-Day Issuance Pilot Project

CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — People in Clay County will no longer be able to receive a license the same day after January 30th.

The Same-Day Issuance Pilot Project is being discontinued in the county after launching in October 2022.

Minnesota Department of Public Safety recommended to the legislature to not continue the pilot program after various issues on the quality and appearance of cards.

Same-day cards will be issued at Clay County DMV until January 30 and they will remain valid until they expire.
