Baked Potato Feed for Feed My Starving Children at Junkyard Brewing
It was $8 for the potato feed and an additional $1 for dessert options - and organizers believe that alone netted them well over $1,000 for the nonprofit.

MOORHEAD, MN (KVRR) – Giving Hearts Day is just around the corner, and local nonprofits are teaming up with businesses around the F-M area to get a jumpstart on their fundraising goals.
One such event took place on Saturday, January 24 at Junkyard Brewing Co. in Moorhead.
Feed My Starving Children FargoPack held a baked potato feed inside the establishment from noon to 5:00 P.M.
The nonprofit, which is in their 12th year of operation, says they are aiming to pack between 1.5 and 2 million meals, which will cost in the range of $580,000.
They say the feed, which they believe netted them well over $1,000, is a positive way to begin, and highlights how businesses are willing to support the community.
“Junkyard Brewing has been an amazing supporter of Feed My Starving Children for the last 7 or 8 years,” said Amy Okeson, executive director of FMSC FargoPack. “They very much believe in being philanthropic in the community – you’ve probably seen and heard about them doing many things with other nonprofit organizations – and we’ve been blessed to work with them.”
This year, FargoPack’s actual packing event will take place at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds from February 22nd to the 28th.
