Sanford Cardiology Department Receives National Recognition
The facility was listed by Becker's Hospital Review as one of the "100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Heart Programs".
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Not to put additional feathers in their collective cap, but Sanford Health is fairly used to recognition from the broader medical community.
Still, being named to the “100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Heart Programs” list by Becker’s Hospital Review feels like a validation of progress.
“All of us have come together – for 10, 15 years, really – growing into what we’ve become. So, to be recognized, it always feels good,” said Dr. Matt Glogoza.
The list focuses on cardiology departments who excel in research capacities and those who use innovative surgical techniques and treatments – groundbreaking technological advancements – to save the lives of countless patients.
Staff says that rural outreach is also a key part of the hospital’s attempts at community service.
“We all do it. We fly places, we drive places – we want to see as many patients as we can,” said Glogoza.
February is American Heart Month, so providers are also taking the chance to remind you to stay active and watch your sodium intake to maintain heart health.
Also, especially if you live in a more rural area, check in with your primary care physician often so they can spot early warning signs of potential issues and recommend you to a more specialized department like Sanford’s for further treatment.
