Wheaton, MN man dies at hospital after being rescued from burning house

WHEATON, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — A man has died after an early morning house fire in Wheaton, Minnesota.

Traverse County Law Enforcement Center received a 911 call reporting the fire just before 4 a.m. at 1307 Broadway Avenue.

When first responders arrived, they rescued the homeowner, 63-year-old Kevin Kruize.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but Kruize was pronounced dead at Sanford Wheaton Medical Center.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
