Wearing Red for Women’s Heart Health
Fargo, N.D. (KVRR) – Hearts are top of mind during the month of February, and the American Heart Association wants to make sure you spread the word.
Friday is Wear Red Day for women’s Heart Health, and they’re encouraging you to take part in raising awareness about the importance of heart health.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and doctors say for women, the signs can be hard to recognize, and often go untreated.
“Women are mostly queasy, a little short of breath, tired, and heartburn. That’s all they can tell you, that I’m tired, sometimes I have indigestion, and mild pain that comes and goes.”
Dr. Bajwa also says that women’s symptoms can often go unnoticed, and it is important to maintain regular check-ups with your primary care provider.
