FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Members of the Iranian community in Fargo-Moorhead as well as their supporters held a demonstration on Saturday as part of an international call to action.

Protests took place in Munich, Los Angeles, Toronto – and Fargo, as a crowd gathered down by Broadway Square.

Those in attendance called for a regime change, saying that the current government is oppressive and killing those inside Iran who dare to speak out.

“They killed the best of us. They killed the bravest among us. It would be a shame to not support them,” said Amin Vededai, a graduate of NDSU. “We just want to be the voice of the voiceless in Iran. Because right now, if people in Iran hit the street, they will be shot. But here, at least we have the freedom to be their voice.”

The Human Rights Activists News Agency says about 7,000 people were killed protesting in Iran last month.
