MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — As part of her campaign for governor of Minnesota, Sen. Amy Klobuchar checked in with local businesses to advocate for spending locally.

The visit comes as Gov. Tim Walz announced his plans to allocate $10 million to local businesses that have been affected by the recent I.C.E. raids.

Businesses will be able to apply for loans ranging from $2,500 to $25,000 with evidence of how much revenue they have lost.

But Sen. Klobuchar believes the federal government should be the one to pay after what she calls an “I.C.E. invasion”.

“It’s one thing to do legal immigration, and it’s one thing to go after violent offenders, which I fully support of, but it’s another thing to do what they were doing. Which was stopping legal citizens,” said Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

She encouraged people to shop locally and invest in the state, saying this is the best thing people can do right now.
