Former longtime Democrat state representative from Grand Forks died at 76

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A former longtime Grand Forks lawmaker has died.
An obituary says 76-year-old Lois Delmore died Wednesday at Valley Senior Living Transitions Unit in Grand Forks.
Delmore graduated from UND and devoted over 40 years to education, retiring in 2012.
The Democrat represented District 43 in the North Dakota House from 1995-2018.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 23 at Amundson Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Forks.
In a social media post, North Dakota Legislative Council wrote that Delmore was described by her colleagues as a dedicated public servant and an advocate for children and families.
House Minority Leader Zachary Ista described her as “a dedicated public servant and champion for Grand Forks. I aspired to live up to her example of working across the aisle to form genuine partnerships and friendships. May she rest in peace and her family take comfort in the lasting impact she made for North Dakota.”
Former Representative Corey Mock said “Representative Lois Delmore dedicated her adult life to serving and supporting children and families — from her career as a teacher to her near-quarter-century fighting for her neighbors in the North Dakota House of Representatives.”
