Moorhead man appears in court after being charged with having sex with 15-year-old

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — A Moorhead man makes his initial court appearance for third degree criminal sexual conduct.

58-year-old Christopher D’Angelo is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl at his home in Moorhead last November.

Court records show he met the girl outside of a liquor store in downtown Fargo and she asked if she could stay with him.

The victim says they went to D’Angelo’s home where she stayed overnight and they had sex three separate times.

The sexual assault was reported days later to Fargo Police.

When detectives interviewed D’Angelo, he stated he was familiar with the victim but said the sex was consensual.

Bail has been set at $75,000 with conditions.

His next court hearing is set for April 16.
