FARGO (KVRR-KFGO) – North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong says Congress needs to take back its power in the Federal Government.

The Governor said that members of both parties in Congress need to take on difficult decisions.

“Congress needs to take back more of congressional power in general.” Armstrong said. “James Madison said Congress would fight to the death to protect its article one authority, and that may have been true 250 years ago. I spent six years there and there’s far too many people in congress that will protect their ability to maintain their membership in congress, and a lot of times that’s punting decisions down to agencies,” .

Armstrong served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2019 to 2024.

The Governor made his comments on KFGO News and Views with Joel Heitkamp.
