Community Remembers Samuel Traut
Several in the community gather to remember the life of Samuel Traut.
The St. Paul Catholic Newman Center at NDSU was Traut’s place of work just two days ago but Wednesday night, it was a place for his family and friends to reflect on his life.
Traut was allegedly brutally killed by Ashley Hunter yesterday morning.
The 24-year-old bible leader got back from a missionary trip in Peru on Saturday.
Bryan Thiry was his former roommate and says Traut was the definition of a role model.
“My basic explanation for him would be he’s the ultimate friend. He was always ready to just drop everything and help somebody out. He was always just going and loving people and wanting to be around people. And he made you feel like the most important person in the world when you were talking to him,” says Bryan Thiry.
Thiry says he and his friends believe Traut is on an express train to heaven.
