UPDATE: Police Say Woman Found with Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound at South Moorhead Standoff
UPDATE:
The swat team jumped into action this afternoon after reports of gunshots in south Moorhead.
At least one shot was reported coming from an apartment complex at 1318 34th avenue south in Moorhead around 2 o’clock.
A bear cat was brought in by SWAT for the safety of officers.
The building was evacuated with people taken to the Days Inn.
Police say the shooter is a woman, who was inside of a garage behind the apartment where she shot herself.
She was taken to the hospital
Witnesses tell us what they heard.
Juneal Doeden said,”I thought it was somebody firing fireworks or something, it’s happened before out here before so i wasn’t sure.”
The woman’s condition has not been released.
A standoff in south Moorhead is now over.
A woman was found in a garage behind an apartment building with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police are not releasing her condition at this time.
The call for help came in just after 2:00pm at 34th Avenue and 14th Street in Moorhead.
Witnesses say they heard gunshots and police have evacuated nearby homes and apartment buildings.
MAT buses were called in to help people get to safety and they were taken to the Days Inn.
