If you’re looking to set up a camp in Fargo for Memorial Day weekend, you may want to reserve a spot soon.

The Park District is expecting a big crowd to come to its parks due to the nice weather.

The Fargo Park District is making sure they’re ready for a busy weekend with every log of wood and blade of grass being taken care of.

Ann Valder is staying at Lindenwood Park through Memorial Day.

She’s visiting family with her partner and dog.

“The trees, the park. You know, the facilities that they have you know it’s just really nice. It’s peaceful here,” said Valder of Madison, Wisconsin.

Samantha Larson–Frobig with the Park District says Memorial Day is one of their busier holidays and it’s also one of their first big weekends of the season.

“There’s been a lot of preparation with just mowing after all the nice rain. We’ve had to do a lot of mowing, primping and this park is really well maintained so we’re ready for everyone to come and enjoy it with us,” said Program Coordinator Larson–Frobig.

Not everyone is hitting the parks for Memorial Day weekend; some are just staying at home.

“Getting the lake place ready for summer. Weather finally turned again and so it’s the usual maintenance and getting things geared up,” said Richard Holmes of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Holmes owns a construction company.
He’s hoping for nice weather this weekend.

“Last week of rain slowed us down quite a bit. Now that it’s turned around, not only is it a good thing for the holiday, it’s good for my business so I’m really looking forward to that,” said Holmes.

With the weather looking up, the park is working to make sure people who visit have a good time through the weekend.

Parks in Fargo expect the campgrounds to be full through Memorial Day.
