Woman Launches Largest Golden Rescue; Saves Abandoned Retrievers
Dozens of stray dogs rescued off the streets of Istanbul, Turkey are now safe near Atlanta, Georgia.
Lauren Genkinger is the president of Adopt a Golden and helped bring three dozen purebred golden retrievers to the U.S.– making it the largest international golden rescue ever.
The 36 dogs arrived over the weekend.
Each was abandoned by their owner.
Genkinger brought them to the Pet Lodge Pet Resort so the dogs can adjust before they’re adopted.
The dogs are also working with an interpreter so they could learn commands in English.
