Exhibit Shows Aprons not Just for Cooking

You may think that an apron is just something used for cooking, but one woman’s collection will make you think otherwise.

Vicki Bogart put her collection of more than 300 aprons on display as a part of her Apron Galore exhibit at the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County in Hjemkomst Center.

Bogart says her interest in collecting aprons began with the passing of her grandmother back in 1982, and has since become a hobby.

“What I discovered about the apron is that each one has a story, even if that story is something I don’t know, but it does. In the case of my grandmother her story was there I could smell the food; I could see her working,” said Vicky Bogart exhibit organizer.

The Aprons Galore exhibit will be on display through June 20th.
