United Way Holds Largest Ever Annual Meeting
The United Way of Cass Clay holds its largest annual meeting ever and honors several area volunteers.
The 2014 United Way campaign also exceeded its goal by almost $6,000 and raised over $5.5 million.
Money given to United Way is invested in four areas; education, income stability, health and basic needs.
New York Times best seller and army combat veteran Wes Moore was the keynote speaker for the event talking about volunteerism.
Some of the organizations recognized included Scheels and Essentia Health.
“It’s important to remember that there’s still so much need out there. That there’s still so many people who need and deserve a champion and it just becomes our responsibility, our societal or moral responsibility to be that champion for them,” said Moore.
More than 700 people attended the United Way’s annual meeting in Fargo.
