IRS Phone Scam In Barnes County
A threatening con artist posing as an IRS representative is making threatening calls to Barnes County residents.
The scammer attempts to gain people’s personal financial information using threats. One phone number that the scam artist appears to be using is 1-866-438-0207.
Authorities say the best advice is to not answer the call or hang up immediately if the caller claims to be from the IRS.
The IRS does not notify people of a potential problem by leaving a threatening phone message.
