Legislation to Pass Bipartisan Bill Fighting Zika Virus
As the Zika virus continues to become more of a threat around the nation, Minnesota Senator Al Franken is taking action.
Franken has introduced a bi-partisan measure aimed to speed up the process in finding vaccines, and treatments to help fight the mosquito born virus.
The House passed the Senate approved measure yesterday.
Franken says the bill will be signed by president Obama in the next few days, adding it to the FDA’s Priority Review Voucher Program.
“These priority review vouchers are worth millions and millions of dollars and this is a great incentive for companies to get after this very very dangerous virus,” said Minnesota Democratic Senator Al Franken.
This year there has been one confirmed case of the virus in Minnesota.
