Social Distancing: Face Mask Fashion And Celebrating High School Seniors

Plus See What A Social Distance Baseball Game Looks Like

You’re seeing a lot of people out wearing masks to help protect against COVID-19.
I tested different mask designs Tuesday morning on the show. Click here to check out my review.
I asked you guys what masks you’re rocking to help stay safe during this pandemic, and you guys are turning into face fashionistas.

Social Cindy Stash

Cindy in West Fargo is well stocked up. The pic on the left is her personal stash, she says. But she’s hard at work helping others stay safe. She tells us the masks you see on the right are ones she’s made to give away.
I love the fabric choices! You got all sorts of animals, paw prints, music notes. I wouldn’t mind walking around with a tie-dye mask like that one on the bottom.

Barb Mask

And then there’s Barb with the powerful combination of cuddly and threatening. A kitten with a lightsaber adorns her face mask.
It screams I’m cute, but I’ll mess you up if you get within six feet of me.
Star Wars Day may have been on Monday, May the Fourth be with you, but this mask will never go out of style.

Moving on, high school sports are cancelled this spring. But that doesn’t mean you can’t play ball.
Moorhead High School’s baseball team figured out how.

Moorhead seniors played seniors from St. Michael-Albertville while social distancing. They filmed each pitch and at bat separately, then spliced it all together complete with announcers.
Now word on how a shark learned how to throw a curveball without hands.
I gotta say, I admire how much effort this took. I bet it took forever to edit that many clips together to form a coherent game.
The game is up on YouTube in all its ridiculousness. It ended up being a tight contest.

Sadly, the pandemic is taking away rites of passage for a lot of local seniors. The traditional pomp and circumstance of graduations ceremonies aren’t happening. High schools and colleges are trying to make up for it by recognizing the students in other ways.
And one place in North Dakota is turning seniors into a source of pride for the whole town.

The town of Lakota, along Highway 2 in Nelson County, is letting Lakota High School hang banners on Main Street with graduating seniors on them.
Now, everyone in town will get a chance to see the smiling faces of proud grads even though graduation ceremonies aren’t going on.

How is your community celebrating graduating seniors?
The definitely deserve it.
Show us! We’d love to see what you’re doing. Message me on Facebook and Twitter.
